Intro to Newbie :)

Hello All,

I've seen people post intros occasionally and read some suggestions for newbies to do so. Soooo. Hello! My name, clearly is Nicole. I do not remember ever making a username and tried to change it once I saw it, but could not figure out how! It remains a point of embarrassment for me.

I've actually been lurking for over a year, although I just started posting over the past couple months. I've picked up some good tips from you ladies. Including IMMEDIATELY going to our wedding website and deleting the "What To Wear/What Not To Wear" tab!! I just had no idea that was rude....now I totally understand. Shout outs to Liatris and Addie for always staying super poised and being kind and cool. Even I got a little pissed at that girl attacking you a few days ago Addie...and we've barely "spoken"!

FI and I get married in 44 days in Mexico. We are super excited!! We've been together for a little over 3 years and have been engaged for a little over a year. We were initially going to get married in NOV12, but moved it back to APR13 at my family's request to accommodate college basketball season of all things!! Hahaha.

FI works in Business and I'm a Doc in the Military. He's from Mexico, I'm from New England. We met at a nightclub and I was super impressed by his great dance moves. He was super impressed with my long, beautiful hair.....until a chunk of my brand new extensions came out in his hands!! YIKES!! But, we started dating anyways and here we are!

He has a beautiful, now 10 yo daughter who lives with us part of the year. She is one of my bridesmaids. (Again, nixxed the "junior" thanks to you ladies because....you're right.......). She and I are very close and she is super excited for the wedding!

We have two dogs: a crazy Boston Terrier and a cutie white chihuahua, as well as a destructive, moody cat.

Welcome!  Where are you getting married in Mexico?  I've only ever been to Puerto Vallarta, and I was blown away by how gorgeous it was.

Glad the boards have been helpful to you.  The ladies here made sure to steer my wedding the right direction, and I'll be eternally grateful for it too.

Cancun actually. I was a bit nervous due to its association with Spring Break.... But its a fave vacation spot for him and hus family. We've put it after Spring Break Season too. So hopefully, we've minimized the chances of drunken streakers!! :p

Ha! No shame on basing your wedding around college basketball. My FI made sure to check the dates and see that we weren't on the day of the Final Four or the Final when we booked our wedding. Not that our team looks like it's going to go super far this year (Tar Heel fan here), but we didn't want to either miss the games or have to equip our wedding reception with multiple TVs. Any specific team your family is a fan of?

My nieces play for the Maine Black Bears. My family is insane about college ball. They love it!

We had to make sure it was after football season... I am the basketball fan. (Tar heels!) Do you go to any of the UNC bars in the city?

Welcome! Thanks for the love!  I, too, have only ever been to Puerta Vallarta, and it was many, many years ago. 44 days is soon!  I'm sure you are excited!  I'm a teacher and had to schedule my wedding around a standardized state test. Lame.
