The "plus one"

Hello,
I had a quick question about reception seatng. Some of my guests are bringing "plus ones" but I do not know the plus one's names. How do I assign the seating? Here are some options  I thought of, but I don't know which one is right.

a. John Doe (2)
b. John Doe Party
c. John Doe and John Doe

What about d. Call John and ask the name of his plus one?

Could you call the guests and ask the name of their date? That would be my first option.

If not or they don't know yet, I would probably do "John Doe and Guest"

You call the person and ask their dates name? That is what I plan on doing. If you are close (or someone is close enought to this person) to invite them to watch you get married I would say you are close enough to them to say hey who are you bringing to my wedding.

Agree with pps.

For the most part, you should be able to ask these people's names.  If for some reason someone doesn't know yet, then just put "John Doe and Guest."  Should be fine.

Call John Doe and get his guests name.  If he doesn't know, use John Doe and Guest.
