So this EXTREMELY nice woman sewed 2 flower girl dresses for me, 4 centerpiece square things and 15 table runners. However...all 15 table runners are TWICE as wide as I was hoping they'd be. As in...THEY'RE HUGE. They will look STUPID on my tables and not have nearly the same aesthetic I was going for.

She's so sweet and I sent her an e-mail letting her know the problem. I hope she doesn't get mad or anything. I looked through my old emails and we have the LENGTH dimensions in e-mails, but we only spoke about the width in person. She was the one who did the math and I ended up buying $500 of fabric...I honestly think if she had done what I asked I would have only spent about $250.

I'm totally bummed. It's my bad for not putting EVERYTHING in writing...shes just so nice and normal I didn't think she'd give me a table runner that was 40" wide and 72" long. It's bad. It's just bad.

Bleh.

This might be a stupid question, but if she can't fix it - can you fold them in half?  Or will that look weird?

Yeah, I think so...I dont think it's a time issue. I just feel awful. I dont understand why she thought 40"x72" = Table Runner. I even remember saying "The orange should be about a foot across...with about 2-4" of brown around it" when we were shopping. Plus I paid her $200 to do all of them. I'm just bummed. I'm horrible at telling someone they did something wrong. I'm so nervous about what she'll say.

I don't see why you couldn't just fold the the runners into thirds long ways so that the two outer edges meet in the middle underneath. Nobody will see the "fix" and there's the plus of not seeing any seams once it's done. That way, you save your money and her feelings.

Is that a finished one or a sample?  Did she sew them?  Or just cut them?
