NER: Photography times

I just had a few questions about time for photographs. Tell me if this sounds about right. My hair appointment is at noon the day of the wedding and my wedding starts at 4pm. The church we are getting married at has no outside space for taking pictures, so are going to a different location for pre-weddng bridal party pictures (my fiance refuses to do a first look). The time to travel between the church and photography location is 15-20 minutes.

1200-100 Hair
1-130- get to church, do make up
130- 200 Photographer arrives, does detail shot and getting ready shots
2-220 Drive to location
220-310 Wedding party photos (I figured she could do the girls first, hopefully be done by 245-250, so we could get back to the church first)
310-330 Dive back to church
330-400 More getting ready pictures

That does that seem like I'm allowing enough time? I would move my hair appointment back but, my mother in law also wants to get her hair done that day by the same girls that's doing mine, and she won't be starting until 1045. I wondering if maybe we could start hair at 1145 and give us an extra 15 minutes.

Re: NER: Photography times

  • Honestly, this is something you should really talk to your photographer about.  She will be the best one to let you know how long pictures will take and what you should plan.

  • 2.5 hours of getting ready shots seems like alot.  how many hours do you have your photographer for?

It looks good to me other than the hair time.  We had bride, 6 BMs, FG, MOB and my SIL and it took a bit over 2 hours with the stylist and one assistant..  An hour is fine if it's just you.
  • Talk to your photographer about what she recommends for the kind of shots you want. I had about 20 minutes of getting ready shots, and got plenty of photos out of that.

Make sure your hairstylists can get your hair done in the time you're planning on. I'd probably add a buffer of maybe 20 minutes, just in case.
