I just got a wedding invitation in the mail and it was addressed only to me. This same thing has happened to me several times and I never know exactly what to do with it... so I'm asking for some advice. I am in a relationship (live with my boyfriend), but don't know whether I am invited with a guest. The RSVP website asks only for the name on the invitation, so again I'm not sure what the assumption is going to be if I respond with a yes. I obviously don't want to show up with an extra person who is not invited, but would rather go to a wedding with my boyfriend than by myself. I realize weddings can be very expensive, and that perhaps they are trying to keep costs down... I'm wondering what the protocol is here? I'd rather not have to ask my friends directly and put them in an awkward spot if they only invited me. Thoughts?
