Last year my FMIL asked me and FI to go on vacation with them over christmas (along with my FSIL). I had JUST started a new job when they asked us (In August) So I was hesitant about going. BUT my FI though it would be a good thing for us to do and confirmed with his parents this was 100% before I asked my boss.
So, I booked the time off (feeling awful since obviously I didn't earn it but luckly my boss is awesome) Told my parents we wouldn't be there for christmas ect.
Then In late October we get a phone call from FFIL saying they have changed their mind, there is just too much going on and they don't want to kennel their dogs (some of my family offered to take them but they said no) so they were cancelling.
I was a little upset over this since they knew I was so hesitant over taking the time off in the first place. I cancelled my holidays but i never told them I cancelled them.
In november my FFIL asks my FI if we can watch their dogs over xmas (and thought it was great I had the time off still so I could spend all my time watching the dogs!) because they decided that they are going to take my FSIL on vacation since she has time off at xmas. (We said no btw and they ended up staying home for xmas)
I couldn't believe how RUDE that was?! I know I will never say yes to a family vaca again though.
What is the rudest thing your Inlaws have done to you?
