Monday Morning!

Re: Monday Morning!

  • Oh man, LTB, everything you just said sounds amazing. Especially the foccacia. (I'm on a bread kick right now.)

Emily, Mr. P's company has been in competition for this contract. If they win it, one of the conditions is that Mr. P moves to Tucson to oversee the whole thing for about two years. I want this a lot because basically I wouldn't have to work while we were there. And I would love to move west. But, the downsides of course are leaving all my friends (::sniffle::), my house that I love (although we wouldn't sell it so we could always come back to it) and the fact that he'd have to go out there in September. When I'm 7 months pregnant. So... I'd either have to go to Tucson that far along, find a new doctor and hope for the best, or stay here without him and hope nothing emergency-like happens. It's a tough spot.
  • Manda, I'd be excited to.  Not having to work and being a SAHM without worrying about it for the first year and a half or so of MiniPanda's life is a fantastic thought.  I hope Mr. P gets it.

[QUOTE]Thanks, Manda.  I'll be all right, it's only six more hours, right?  I can handle it. Em, yeah, bike slipped when I hit the curb and I tumbled.  DocBroc, I remember getting to the end of planning my wedding and just wanting it to be over.  Two more weeks!  The day of, you're going to have so much fun, you'll forget how stressful it all was getting there.

Ouch!  I remember flying over my handlebars once when I was little.  Road rash sucks.  Feel better!

And I'm not stressed about the wedding.  I really have nothing left to do besides random errands that I can't do until I get to St. Louis.  I'm just sick of it, period.  Lol.  A year and a half engagement is too long!

  • Manda that sounds like a great opportunity!  You'll find a way to make it work with the pregnancy if you have to go out there.  It would be so nice to have all that time with the new baby.

[QUOTE]Focaccia bread is the only bread I can make without any issues. For whatever reason, my dough doesn't rise enough and any roll I try to make ends up rather flat. I have to confess that I ate 1/3 of the 9x13 pan of the bread.

Focaccia is so friggin' delicious.  I loooooooooove the rosemary onion focaccia that the frotega chicken panini comes on at Panera.

  • Manda, is this new, or did I just totally miss it? I think that sounds great if you can work out the initial logistics, so I hope Mr. P gets it! My mom and dad were in the process of moving from CA to England when I was born, and I think that my dad was back and forth a couple times before I was born to get everything set-up while letting my mom stay in CA with her doctors. Then right after I was born my dad went to England, and my mom and I followed when I was 6 weeks old. Worked out just fine.
  • Oh, and Bay, the very first time I tried to ride my bike to work I hit a bump in the road, flew over my handlebars and cracked my chin open to the tune of 4 stitches (luckily H was with me). I feel for ya and hope you heal quickly.
  • Pandaface, does that mean I can come west to visit too eventually?!  Because that sounds awesome.  It sounds like a great opportunity, for you guys of course!  Not just because I can maybe come visit.  Fingers crossed!  :)

  • Thanks for your encouragement, ladies! I'll confess I'm torn between excitement and panic. I just wish they'd decide already. (Is this sounding familiar Stacks??) Originally there were supposed to announce the contract winner LAST April. Yeah, gotta love government contracts. If they delay it a little more though, that's probably not a bad thing... maybe they'll push it back again and the start date will be December. That'd be perfect!

  • Good Morning.

I am planning a whole lot of nothingness for today. FI has a dentist appt this afternoon, so I'm sure he'll make me go to that with him. Then we have his daughter's softball game tonight as well. Not a single other thing planned. Probably head to hobby lobby with coupons to get stuff for the wedding. FI bought and planted 2 rose bushes yesterday. He designated one of them for my mom's dog we had to put down last week so we can bury her next to it when we get her back. He can be so sweet sometimes.

Missy & Bay~Get to feeling better soon.

LVB~I know how you feel! My sister is due on the 27th, and I can't wait to meet my little nephew.

  • Emily, it's not new, but I haven't really talked about it too much since it's so indefinite.

Fezz, you can come visit me wherever I am!! Please. :-)

And I want to point out that if he goes in September andI go with him, I'll be 7 months pregnant, driving cross country with two cats in the car. If I go after turkeybutt is born I'll be driving cross country with two cats and an infant in the car. Don't both of those options sound awesome??

LTB I see your foccacia confession and raise you a potato chip and onion dip binge yesterday. Word up. And it was awesome. I've gained 2 pounds so far, which is amazing as I feel bloated enough to float. I got on the scale this morning thinking it'd be up to five pounds from the way I feel, I was so relieved it hadn't changed at all since last weigh-in. And I've given in completely and am wearing maternity shirts on the regular. Meh.
  • Morning everyone! I had a pretty quiet weekend, FI was in Florida for a friend's bachelor party and I just stayed in bed to avoid the rainy weather. Yesterday was gorgeous though, hopefully spring is here to stay this time!

And thanks for all the birthday messages on facebook. It's always nice to wake up to lots of notifications.
  • Oh, Panda.  The cats will not be happy I'm sure.  But once you're there they'll get over it!  But no, neither option sounds fun.

    Hey birthday girl! :)

  • Happy Birthday Anna.

Manda sounds all too familiar.  :)  My parents were in the middle of moving to Columbus for a job transfer when my mom was pregnant with my sister.  She stayed in Chicago until my sister was born and then moved a week later to Columbus in the blizzard of 78.  So just know, any option is possible!  :)  I'm sure you could find someone that would drive out with you and fly home if you did stay where you're at to have the baby.  There's lots of possiblities.

Car place just called.  I finally need a new battery (I figured that would happen since it's the original still) and some brake work.  About $1000.  Yippity skippity.  This better mean I make it to and from St. Louis for the wedding without incident!

    And HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNA!!!!!!

  • Oh and also.  I told Mr Stack that I would be open to having a baby soon after we get out to PA if I get to stay home.  I don't know why I said that, it just sort of slipped out.......I BLAME YOU GUYS for giving me a bit of a baby fever lately.  Oh, and if he were to get this new position it'd be in Rochester, PA.  I haven't done much research other than a quick search of houses and my goodness I found a ton more options - so that was a good thing.

  • Morning!  There is snow falling from the sky and accumulating outside of my window.

    right.now.

I am working from home today as a direct result.  I refuse to deal with snow on April 18.

Veggie - glad to hear the car won't be too bad, all things considered.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNA.

And good vibes to all those trying to figure out H's work situtation/moving - it seems like there's a lot of people going through that right now!
  • Woohoo, more baby Stacks! :)

  • Sowwy Stacks. (Not really. BABIES BABIES BABIES!)
  • Happy Bday Anna!

I'm exhausted after a crazy busy work week and then working half of the weekend at an event. Then I went to see a band with FI Saturday night and met Cengle and the girls for drinks last night. I've been so tired when I slept I've had crazy weird dreams.

Now off to have another crazy work week. I hope it slows down soon. :(
  • Dude what is with all this snow talk??
  • If there was snow on the ground in DC today I would back up the car drive to Florida and never look back. I couldn't deal. Even here I'm wearing sandals today on principle, because it's mid April, not because it's actually warm enough to wear them.
  • Reason 89234028734203 why I would never move to Michigan!
  • This is my backyard.  This is all new since 7am.

Habs: where do you live?  Did you send me this snow?
  • I admire your gumption Anna. Cause this morning it was not warm at all. But I hear it's supposed to get pretty warm this afternoon.

BTW, how'd ya like that storm on Saturday? The creek behind the house is completely flooded.
  • Ha!  Stacks, being from Ohio, I bet you DO have a list of reasons that long!  I actually really like it here.  But I'm from here, so that makes sense.  And I'm actually moving to Chicago in a few months.

And I wouldn't move to Ohio.
  • Saturday was terrible. I was pretty hungover though so it was perfect weather for staying in bed all day. It was my MOH's birthday on Saturday and I felt bad for her because the weather was so bad, all she wanted to do for her birthday was go to the zoo and it was too rainy to do that.
  • I had a dream about my mom last night. Now I'm down. I'm 33 years old and I need my mommy. :(
