My engagment ring is Martin Flyer, vintage, with a design engraved all around the band. It's their design, not something we custom-designed.
Click for pic from Martin Flyer web siteFI and I ordered our wedding bands on Saturday, and the sales lady called and said that the manufacturer wants me to send them my e-ring for two weeks (!) so that they can perfectly match the engraving.
If it was something custom, I get that. But it's their design, hand-engraved on each ring. It doesn't make sense to me... and I really don't want to give up my ring for two weeks, AND I'm nervous because I've heard horror stories of diamonds getting switched out when rings are sent for repair, etc.
Anyone ever heard of this?
