Hi there!

Well, I have a few minutes of downtime before my mom gets here and I'm actually not passed out sleeping.

I had a c section last night and Emmalynn Helene (yes, I gave in on the 2 n's) was born at 6:33pm.  She was just over 5 lbs and 17" long at 33 weeks and 5 days.  They were hoping that I could hold out until Monday when I was 34 weeks, but apparently my body had other plans as my contractions got worse and worse throughout the day.  Since I was so close to 34 weeks, they weren't going to stop the labor.  She was breech, though, so I knew that I would definitely have a section.

Bryan got to see her quickly, but I didn't until this morning.  The NICU nurses were great and took some pics and brought them up to me, though!

She looks teeny, but she's really not that small, especially compared to some of the really small babies in there.  All the tubes make her look worse, but she's doing pretty well.  She's breathing on her own and just has some O2 under her nose.  They put a feeding tube in, but it's more to help get the air and other stuff out of her stomach.  She has an IV in her arm, but they said that that's probably the first thing to come out once she starts feeding, since it's only for nutrients.

She's beautiful and adorable and we love her so, so much.  She'll probably have to stay here for at least 3 weeks and it's going to break my heart to go home without her, but I know it's for the best.

B has been wonderful to both of us - taking care of me when it's hard for me to move because of the surgery and getting everything together that I didn't get a chance to do before she was born.

I glanced back at all the well wishes - thank you so much!  I know it's cheesy, but you guys have become such a wonderful support system and it meant a lot to get texts and emails from people.  I love you all!

And, some pics:

Goodnight, as I doubt I'll be on later.

Again, thanks for all the support!
