Thank you notes -- so upset!

So we were married on September 10th, in a spectacularly beautiful ceremony attended by a few of my dearest relatives and 110 of my husband's (we live in my husband's country).  His family was incredibly generous with us, and so I set to writing the thank you notes right after the last of my relatives headed back home.  Husband, didn't write a single one even though I did ask, which was fine.  The notes  were all finished up within a month of the wedding.  I sent those for which I had the address, and gave those whose address I lacked to husband, who took them to his father's house.  He would use his father's address book to finish the task.  As he is at his father's place every day, and there were only a dozen notes to address, I figured it was as good as done.
Yesterday I was over visiting my father-in-law, and there were the notes, exactly as I'd left them, unaddressed and unsent.  This has upset me so much, but my husband says, what's the point, he already thanked people over the phone.
I feel horrible thinking how rude it is that we didn't formally thank all these people!
Is it too late?  Can we still send the notes?
Thanks...
