Save the Date?

Do we sent out Save the Date cards for a destination wedding with only a few guests? We have to ok the date with them anyway to make sure they can come so...do we or don't we?

Re: Save the Date?

  • If it is a really small guest list, I would just call them.

It depends.  If they are all people that you need to be there, then a phone call to find out if the date works for them before booking stuff and sending out STDs would be required anyways.  If you don't need them all to be at the wedding, then pick the date that works for you and then let them know afterwards.

If it's a very small guest list, I think it would probably not be worth the time/effort/money of making and sending STDs since they are all people important to you and will know the date by word of mouth or a phone call.
  • We sent Save the Dates for our immediate family only destination wedding (13 people total).

My fiance and I made up a book of information about Bermuda.  It included important info like: passports required, money used there, weather in May, no car rental, the wedding hotel information, other hotel information, cruise information, and a letter from us about why we chose this kind of wedding.  It was wrapped up with a Fodor's Bermuda book.

Do you know how many questions I've been asked about the weather or if they can rent a car there?  I get so angry.  READ THE SAVE THE DATE.
