Re: "Id like you to meet Like"

  • I mean LIKE was obviously the next choice in names.  They already have Honey and Pie - so now when they call the kids they say, "LIKE HONEY PIE".  It has a great ring to it.

    What is wrong with people?

ETA: This reminds me of a couple years ago, I heard of someone naming their baby ESPN.  Or Espn.  I can't remember if they actually capitalized it all or not.

  • Pink I think you could be much more classy than that.  How about "Status" or "Poke"?
  • If once people gave Biblical names and that was the icon, then today [the Facebook Like] is one of the most famous icons in the world."

that was the best.  comparing biblical icons to Facebook.
  • I "like" this person's comment, because it's exactly what I was thinking:

"I can see the kid's Valley Girl life from this day on. 'Like, get over here. Like, what do you want for dinner? Like, Don't roll your eyes at me. Like, you can not have Pie, for breakfast!' "

I think this already happened in Egypt... or maybe it was twitter...  You know, since it had a big role in the revolution.

I'll try to find the news story.

Maybe the names Like and Facebook doesn't sound quite so ridiculous when you're speaking Hebrew or Arabic? Still very strange though.

I've known a girl named Pie.  What a horrible name for a girl.  Her sister was Zipper, again, just a horrible name.  Why don't parents think about what the kids on the playground will say?  It's worse that this girl will someday be able to google herself and find out that she was named after an application on Facebook.  Unless Zuckerberg is offering her a free college scholarship, I just don't see why the parents couldn't come up with some other "original" name that was a little less corporate.

  • I have to say, I am a fan of old school horror movies, but I did not have the following on my short baby name list:

    Frankenstein
    Mummy
    Wolfman
    Dracula

Kiki - don't leave out Frontierville, Yoville, Treasure Isle or my personal vote - Island Paradise!
