Morning...

Anyone around?

I'm here eating breakfast, catching up on the news before my trip this afternoon.  I have to admit I'm looking forward to my day off tomorrow.

What is everyone else up to?

Re: Morning...

  • Good Morning.  I just got to work.  Not really feeling it, plus my cell phone finally called it quits last night after 6 glorious years together, all I get is a white screen, so I can't even text DH all day to help the time go by faster.  I guess it's time for me to enter the new age world of cell phones and PDA's.  BLAH.  I liked my old school phone.
  • sorry about your cell phone.  I have an iphone and while I love it, I feel  I'm too attached and a regular ole cell phone would be better.

    Morning!
Not much going on here today, but the weather is gorgeous.

When I got here, we had to get me an unlocked phone so I could use it in OZ too.  We got the LG500.  Not quite an iPhone, but a touch screen that can do way more than I need a phone to do.  Problem: The manual is in French and even though I registered it with my Australian address, because the S/N shows it was sold in France, the updater will only allow me to download the manual in French.

  • Well what really stinks about it is Mr Stack kept trying to buy me one for Christmas and I kept telling him I was perfectly happy with my phone.  So now I get to pay for it.

Well anyhow, I hope your day off comes quickly for you.  I'm ready for Friday.

  • Good morning.  I'm here at work, but since I haven't gotten a good night's sleep in about a week, I'm totally not feeling it.  The coffee I'm drinking just isn't enough this morning.

    Stack,

I hear you about the cell phone.  I have a regular old cell phone and I love it.  H wants to upgrade to a PDA style phone but I'm resisting hardcore right now.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • sadly I only have one day off, then I'm on for another 5 long days.  Then next Tuesday we are off to Puerto Rico for 3 days.  I can't wait for that.  We plan on a shopping trip to the mall (we do not have a mall here), then the rest of the time will be at the resport eating, drinking and being lazy.

  • Good morning!!  Lynda, I'm sorry I never got back to you the other day.  I've been off work so not really on here for any decent amount of time.  I hope you don't get rained on today!

  • Good Morning.... I'm around briefly. I am babysitting FI's nephew (3yrs old). We got him at 530am. We watched Snow Buddies, and now we're watching The Grinch. Yesterday he fell asleep around 9. and We napped til about noon. So hoping we do the same today. We have to run into town today so we can pay some bills..
FI and I only got to sleep about 3am, since he gets home from work at 130am..We are not use to waking up early. But I'm enjoying the presence of a kid around.. I think maybe too much.

No rain... I do not even see a cloud right now, just beautiful blue skies.

  • Good morning, peeps!

I'm sitting on my couch watching the news and putting off getting ready for work.

Apparently, Conan mentioned my Fargo radio station on the Tonight Show last night because they offered him a job, and I'm trying to find the audio of it.

  • Hey hey!  I'm here! Just got in from my daily walkabout here in Malmo.  I found a pair of boots that I like, so I'll have to convince H to get them for me when he comes home.  Woo hoo!

SO, I'm sitting on the sofa, munching on some peanuts and drinking coffee.
  • Huh, well, I can't find the audio, but it is an option on the Tonight Show website at the bottom!

  • I just busted out laughing.

There is a thread on the bump about an article of woman somewhere who has been diluting baby formula because WIC only gives so much formula a month.

Posters are all up in arms about people living off the gov't.  This is what one poster wrote:

Our WIC program is highly overused by parents that CAN afford to pay for their children but since the program will pay they all use it.  Both my SIL's use it and they can afford to buy their own baby formula and my MIL pressured me to use it when they came to our house to offer it.  We make almost 3 figures a year in our household we don't need the assistance why in the world would I use it.  It drives me nuts when people that CAN afford to do things on there own use goverment assistance that is meant for others.

Really, you make almost HUNDREDS of dollars of year?  I'm sure it's a typo, but you have to admit it's pretty damm funny.

  • Good morning, ladies. I'm here after having yesterday off from work. I get tomorrow "off," too, since I've got an appointment with the rheumatologist at 9, going to try to schedule a lawyer visit tomorrow noonish, and daughter goes to the orthodontist at 4:30.

Today is a long one. Got to work at 7:15, teach until 3:30, go by my homebound student's house and work with her from 5-6:30, then on to a local middle school where my older daughter is participating in the county meet for her school's reading bowl team. That's supposed to be from 5:30-7:30, so my mom is having to pick her up from school and deliver her to the middle school. At some point I should probably grab a bite for dinner.
  • Good morning!
I'm posting again now that theknot seems to have fixed some of the major glitches.
Finishing coffee and working on some projects at work.
Also looking for reaaaaly comfy shoes.  My feet have been hurting A LOT lately... I'm thinking crocs or something equally squishy while I'm at home and in the kitchen.
Happy Tuesday - one day closer to Friday...
  • Good morning! I'm eating breakfast right now, trying to motivate my sorry ass to get to work.

Lynda I hope you have a great trip.
  • Oh, I'm here.  Good morning ladies :)  Working as usual.

Tonight we're going to meet with a DJ and see if he's cool and can work in our budget.  He asked us to come with a couple songs we really want to have played so he can get a feel for our taste.  I was also writing some do NOT play songs and now I have "Last Dance" stuck in my head.

I don't see any over usage in the WIC program at least not in my area. I worked in a grocery store for 5 yrs seen many use this. It's a healthy program on top of the limits. It gives about 12 cans a month of Formula. Doesn't this person realize formula is 12bucks a can or higher? Not only that if she's making 3 figures, she doesn't even qualify. there is a money restriction on this. It's not has low as welfare in general but there still is a restriction and you can only use it until the child is 5 yrs of age, after the first 2 yrs, it's nothing but cereal, cheese, milk and eggs, and now I guess they're adding fruits.
