hi girls, i don't post much on E, but i know a lot of you have already been through the wedding deal, and hopefully you can reach out a helpful hand.

just found out from FI that the RD is going to consist of 74 guests!!!! that's half of our entire wedding!!!

i'm totally amazed that FI's parents are willing to fully host that many people, but i'm afraid i'm going to get overwhelmed with meeting most of these people for the first time!

how do i avoid a total freak out?

But your FI should help you with meeting or dealing with his family or people you don't know.

<div>it could definitely be seen that way, but it's also 2 back-to-back events with lots of meet and greet. i sort of envisioned the RD as more of a calmer, family pep-talk type dinner, but i guess it exploded!</div>

Do you normally freak out when you meet people? Do you have anxiety issues or something?

There isn't going to be a ton of time for more than Hello and Nice to meet you, with 74 people and what, about 2 hours? If all you did was stand there and greet people, that would be less than 2 minutes a person. Since that's not all you'll be doing, I really wouldn't worry about it. Try to remember a few names, but no one will expect you to remember them all. Or go on Facebook or old photo albums and see who you'll be meeting beforehand.

I don't know why you would freak out, but I agree, that is a crazy amount of people- I thought a rehearsal was for the people you know, who need to rehearse their job the next day.  I don't know why they have turned into a mini-wedding.

my FI is a natural introvert and large events make him tired.  he enjoys them, but they tire him.

our RD is 130+ (more than half the wedding!)

we are planning on mapping out his downtime.  good luck!
