My family is Christian. My fiance is Jewish and I am converting. We'll be having a traditional Jewish ceremony and I want to give my family and friends who are not familiar with Jewish customs a little heads up about what to expect and one or two things that are required of guests during the ceremony itself.
The main thing I need people to know is that men are required to wear a Kippah (little head covering) while in the chapel and that my fiance and I will be providing them for everyone, so there's no need for guests to bring their own if they don't want to.
There are a few other little tid-bits that I'd like people to know, such as that while the ceremony is partially in hebrew I'm having the rabbi repeat everything that he says in hebrew in english, so that no one misses anything.
I was thinking about printing out little cards called "Megan's Gentile Cheat Sheet" and stuffing them in the invitations of people who I think would benefit from the information. What does everyone think about this?
