Curly willow branch centerpieces...

Is anyone doing these (or did them) as your reception centerpieces? I'm trying to get an idea of what it will look like. I bought a few bundles to do a mock up but I don't think they were tall enough and the branches looked a little sparse in the vase. They didnt look anything like the pictures I found when I googled it. If you did them, how many branches did you put in each vase and what size/type vase did you use? Thanks!

I did them.  I used 10" tall vases with a 3" opening.  I was worried about the branches looking sparse, too, so we filled the vases with acorns.  We were originally going to do rocks, but it was going to be way too expensive.

My daughter made branch centerpieces for her recent wedding.

We bought the tall vases from save-on-crafts.com (but I think you can now buy them at Michaels).

She collected tree branches from her husband's farm and bought some Curly Ting from Michaels to fill out the vases.  She collected rocks from the farm creek.

She bought votive candles in bulk from Michaels and made all of the wire handles.
We got chandelier crystals from eBay and she hung them with clear fishing wire on the branches.

I want to make sure I do not block conversatons at the table so do you think 28" v shaped vases with a 5" diameter for the centerpieces will work?  Should they be thinner?
