Gifts for others not in wedding party

I am having a Catholic wedding, do I need to get gifts for those that are doing readings or taking up the gifts or being an altar server?  I assume I would give a gift to my friend who is singing one song at my wedding.  Any other participants in the ceremony I am missing outside of the bridal party and parents?  How bout grandparents?

Re: Gifts for others not in wedding party

  • Yes. It is nice to recognize these people.
  • I gave some small token gifts for those people. I think we got them some fancy boxed candy or something like that. It would be nice to recognize them.
As for the grandparents, we gave them albums.
  • We didn't get any gifts for the readers or gift carriers, but we got corsages/bouts for them to wear.
Our altar servers were my younger cousins, and we put $20 or $25 in a card for them (can't remember which amount).  Our ceremony musicians were my aunt singing and a family friend playing guitar.  We got each of them a bottle of wine and $50 in a card (Catholic ceremony had lots of songs and music).
We didn't get our grandparents anything, just corsages/bouts for them as well.
