My fiance and I are having a very small wedding out of town and are therefore only inviting close friends. However, there are a lot of people - close aquaintences and co-workers who ask us about it all the time and seem to genuinely be interested in the planning, etc.
A friend of mine will be hosting a party locally as sort of a shower. I understand the etiquette is suppossed to be to only invite those that we are inviting to the wedding... but since it is out of town (4 hours) isn't it also kid of offensive to not invite the close aquaintences and co-workers to a local celebration?
I truly do want them to feel we appreciate the friendships but the budget just can't fit them in for the wedding.
Opinions?? Invite them to the local shower or no?
