I have a wedding guest who is the ex-boyfriend of one of my BM/BFF. He has a new girlfriend and at the time of the wedding (October) they will have been together over a year. The problem is, this guy wasn't really broken up with my BM when he started seeing his girlfriend, so it isn't really a great situation. To spare her feelings, I would like to invite him with no guest, but everything I read says long term significant others get an invite. My BM would tell me it is OK...but I know her and I don't want her to have a bad time because of this. Should I do the single invite and brace myself for the wrath from the guest/possibility he won't come?
