And wants to read Bang Bang Club, I have it, it's lendable, and I'll likely be done with it by the end of the day. It's also a movie that I am now VERY excited to see.

It's a really good read from the perspective of pulizer prize winning photographer who shot some of the horrific shiit going down in South Africa during 1990-1994. He and 3 other photographers were referred to as the Bang Bang Club, and their story is very interesting, very heart wrenching.

It's a bit of a historical read, but with very raw and intense emotion.

ANYWAY, if it's something you want to read, I'll lend it to the first person who asks. If none of you want it, I'll open it up on Bookface.

Opal, I'll let you and LDY hack it out. It's 242 pages on Nook, not sure what it is in like...real book pages. If you think you can finish it in two weeks, Ops, I'll lend it to ya, otherwise, I'll send it off to Lady when I'm done with it.

I highly recommend it. It's heart wrenching.

Ya know, it's so funny to me when people argue about what EReader is better. I mean...it's almost like republicans and democrats when you talk to people about them.

I never thought people would be so emotionally connected to their ereader brand.

Right now I kind of wish I had gotten a Nook because I could have just walked in to Barnes and Noble to pick one up instead of waiting on stupid Amazon shipping.

Can I talk about Water for Elephants?  I was disappointed that they never really discussed the whole "carrying water for elephants" thing.  It was a big deal that Jacob knew for sure that the other old man was lying about carrying water for elephants and when he first got to the show the guy was like, "Let me guess, you want to carry water for elephants" but they never explained that other than Jacob making some comment about how much elephants drink.  But it seemed like it was a "thing" and I would have liked more explanation.

I also felt like the last half went really quickly.

I don't hate Farenheight 451, I'm just having issues reading it. It's a downloaded copy, so I'm seriously thinking there are words/pages missing. It's been a really hard read for me =(

Yes fishy, it is dumb. I assume it is my kindle that I love so much, but it is just e readers in general.

I am only like 8% through water for elephants but I have heard good things so we will see.

I haven't seen the movie.  I wanted to read the book first.  I may just wait for it to come out on DVD.  I'm mostly interested in the sets and costumes, not so much the acting or the story.  I'm worried about watching the animal abuse, it was bad enough reading it.

TR, that really bothered me too. It's the freaking title of the book, ffs, talk about it.

I thought the movie was pretty good. It was a really good adaptation and stayed true to the book in many ways. I didn't think the movie was awesome, but I didn't think the book was awesome either, I liked them both the same level. I did have to close my eyes a few times though.

My mom is an avid book reader. She goes through them like one a week. I can remember growing up and she sitting on the couch, while we watched tv, reading her book, like we weren't even there. I guess that is where I get it from.

I don't think that I will ever get an ereader. I like the feel of the actual book and I also like to be able to see how much more I have to go. lol

I dont know, it's just written strangely. I can't ever tell who's talking. I understand that he and his wife are pretty disconnected. I get that books are banned, and I think so are movies and anything that's intellectual? He just went and met with an old professor. That's as far as I've gotten.

You have both? H keeps trying to steal my nook to get gadgety with it. The best part about my nook is that I can read it at night since it's backlit - but I could go for a Kindle since it's cheaper and I can read it outside...but I would have to get a screen light, right?

Oh I had to read this my Freshman or Sophomore year of college for a class.  I remember liking it (I've read several books along the same lines), but don't remember the exact details.  It was good though!
