Favor thoughts

We're doing navy, ivory, and a few pops of chartreuse green for the wedding colors.  I know if you do favors they should be edible.  I don't really want to do m&ms.  Candy doesn't come in navy, ivory, and bright green (at least not without a rainbow of other stuff).  Any suggestions?

Right now, M&M's is the only thing that I can think of.

Or maybe sugar cookies with food coloring to match you colors?

There was a candy site someone recommended to me where you can buy candy buy color (including licorice, sixlets, and fruity-tootsie rolls)  I'll see if i can dig that up for you.

A friend of mine did a cookie bar as their favors. It was really cool. They gathered old family recipes and did the cookies themselves.

I've found a lot of blue and ivory candy for my candy buffet. My favorite being Dark Chocolate Lindt Truffles...they come in dark blue wrappers. They're pretty and very yummy! Can't go wrong with ivory jordan almonds too.

I'd say no more than three days. Anything longer and they might not taste fresh.

Are there any local sweets or specialty goodies made anywhere local to you?  We have a farmer's market nearby where they sell chocolate covered cherries, as well as a candy plant in town that sells candies you can only get here, and another farmer's market where they sell really tasty flavored nuts and popcorns.  I'd try to go local, if I could b/c it'd be unique to your area and it would hopefully say something about you.

Or do a candy bar.  That's what I was thinking about if we'd had a local wedding.

Perhaps you could do whatever type of favor you would like, be it cookies or chocolates, and then tie it in to your color scheme by using ribbons, etc. for the colors on the packaging.

I agree with Mrs. Cross,  any favor can 'go' with your theme, just stick a label or ribbon on it that matches. We are having Krispy Kreme donuts, they come in adorable boxes of 2.

Cookies can be frozen and kept for about 3 months if done properly. I froze my cookie favors a month ahead of the wedding.
