Here's the background...my cousin is getting married. I offered to throw his fiance a shower on the same weekend as our summer family reunion (since cousin & fiance live in Texas, but normally come home for the reunion). Cousin & fiance aren't able to make it back this summer because it is so close to the wedding.
Is there any way to tactfully throw her a shower anyway? Invite everyone I would have invited, have a luncheon, and ask people to either directly ship their gifts to the bride to to bring gift cards to the shower for me to mail after the reunion? Or is that completely tacky?
I feel badly that cousin & fiance are missing out a shower that everyone else in the family gets...and maybe this is the perfect solution - awesome gifts without the annoying shower?
