Christmas Party Music Recs

What are some good holiday-ish albums to play at my casual holiday cocktail party this weekend? Bonus points for "various artist" type of stuff. (And stuff I can get on iTunes.) All I have is crap like the Charlotte Church Christmas CD and I don't think that will really fly.

Nat King Cole hands down, shuffled with Bing Crosby. That is ALL you need at christmas. Oh and try finding the shirley temple hippopotamous song.

Hmm, I will have to think on this, but for now I can tell you that it's not really a party unless you play Brenda Lee's Rockin Around the Christmas Tree.

We got a good Christmas music collection from Walmart's Christmas section last year.  It is a mix of vocal and instrumental that isn't particularly annoying.

Make sure you have the Charlie Brown Christmas song in there. Plus, if you get some of the Boney M Christmas songs, they're always good to get people laughing with the disco vibe.

Very good! There is an entire album of charlie brown christmas music, I think starbucks sold it... 5 or 6 years ago. Its great background music.

I typically stick to instrumentals for cocktail party-type of things, mostly jazzy mixes.

I'm not much help because I just assign music to H and he downloads stuff.

Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, stuff like that. You could always throw in a few instrumentals by Kenny G, Emile Pandolfi, etc.

I like jazzy instrumental things.  You can only hear the same song sung by different people so many times before you just want to rip your ears off.

Also, Chris Rice has a great piano-instrumental CD to Christmas music. It's really nice.
