Wedding Announcements

Hey ladies,
I normally don't post here but I could get the best advice here.
I just got married last week, 10 days now, and I'm getting ready to start making our announcements.

I have seen many with "The couple now resides at:" That's great, but we don't move until August, so that's kind of silly.
I have seen some with the registry info. (gag) and other random tid bits.
What should and shouldn't go on them? What's tacky, what's not.
TIA!

Re: Wedding Announcements

  • the very few ive seen have read something like:

    Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
are pleased to announce that their daughter,
    Susan Ann
    was married on
    July 1, 2012
    to Mr. Steven Jones
    son of
    Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jones

    The couple reside at XXX
  • Maybe something like "The couple plan to make their home in ____ after August xx."  Or don't even include that part & just send separate moving announcements in August.

[QUOTE]I've always heard announcements are to be sent immediately following the wedding.  I'm sure the word has gotten around about your marriage by word of mouth and social media at this point. I'd probably skp them and just send something to update your address after you move.

</div><div>This is true. However, we have several family members that are not connected online and H wants to send them an annoucement.
