Ceremony to Reception Distance?

How far is too far to make my guests drive from the ceremony site to the reception site?

We typically seem to end up driving between 20-30 minutes (ours was about a 25 minute drive from one location to the other). 35 minutes is about the maximum I would drive unless I was very close to the person.

As a guest, I appreciate it when the drive is 30 mins or less.  When it is greater than that, it bugs me.  (Not that I would ever complain about it to anyone other than my FI!).

I agree with PPs.  Up to 30 minutes, I would think nothing of it.  After 45 minutes to an hour though, I would probably be a bit annoyed.

30-40 minutes I could deal with. The drive between our venues is about that long. A friend of mine went to a wedding that was in one city and the reception was in the next biggest city over an hour away. She said there was a huge gap in between and it was really awkward.

I had to drive from one side of Atlanta to another for a previous friend's wedding.  Traffic was awful, and it took almost an hour.  I would try to do the locations as close as possible.

Exactly the problem. Atlanta is impossible.
