Bridal Shower Expense

Is it right to expect bride's mother, sister, and bridesmaid to pay for the bridal shower they have can't/aren't attending due to distance, etc.?

Um, what?  No one has to pay for a shower.  Whoever hosts, pays.

It would be wrong to expect them to pay even if they were going.  If they aren't even going, that's ridiculous.

If people want to throw a shower, they volunteer.

Whoever offers to host should pay and not assume others will chip in, or send anyone a bill or anything.
