Or supper if that's whatcha call it.

I'm making a garlic meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, and glazed carrots.

Re: What's for dinner?

  • Beef Stroganoff: I haven't made it in months and months. Nom!

    • 12  ounces  boneless beef sirloin steak
    • 1  8-ounce carton  dairy sour cream
    • 2  tablespoons  all-purpose flour
    • 1/2  cup  water
    • 2  teaspoons  instant beef bouillon granules
    • 1/4  teaspoon  black pepper
    • 2  cups  sliced fresh mushrooms
    • 1/2  cup  chopped onion (1 medium)
    • 1  clove  garlic, minced
    • 2  tablespoons  butter or margarine
    • 2  cups  hot cooked noodles

    Directions

    1. If desired, partially freeze beef for easier slicing. Trim fat from meat. Thinly slice meat across the grain into bite-size strips. In a small bowl stir together sour cream and flour. Stir in water, bouillon granules, and pepper; set aside.

    2. In a large skillet cook and stir the meat, mushrooms, onion, and garlic in hot butter over medium-high heat for 5 minutes or until desired doneness. Drain off fat.

    3. Stir sour cream mixture into skillet. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 1 minute more. Serve over noodles.

  • I planned on eating steak with potatoes, green beans, and chimichurri. But there a Florida State Society event (most of the states have organizations in DC and put on events so people from the same state can hang out) tonight with stone crab and an open bar. I'd like to still cook and eat at home, but historically I have poor self control at open bars and by the time I get home my motor skills aren't really at a high enough level for cooking. But I don't really like crab enough to eat there.

Sorry for the novel, I'm obviously very conflicted about this.
  • now i want stone crab
  • We're going out for pizza, because we were lazy bums who didn't go grocery shopping over the weekend.
I'm effing starving, too. I'm irrationally excited for pizza.

  • Not sure. I'm sick so I'm not quite in the mood for anything big. But tomorrow I'll be home late, so I'll want something quick then too.

Maybe veggie burgers w/ oven fries and garlic aioli.
