Who do I invite?

I am inviting about 8 people that I work with to my wedding.  I don't know some of their spouses, have never met them or just met them briefly.  Is it proper etiquette to invite just the co-worker or do I have to include the spouses even if you don't know them?

Most people will decline an invitation if their spouses are not included on the invite.  It is proper etiquette to always invite the spouses of your guests, even if you do not know them.

Just ask them what their spouses names are so you can address the invites accordingly.

Invite the spouses. 

Maybe you could host a small informal dinner at your house for your coworkers so you can get a chance to meet their spouses and get to know them?

It's not about YOU not knowing them. It's about respecting their relationship, inviting them as a social unit, and making your coworkers feel comfortable.
