No wonder...

I finally found out why it takes so long for my clothes to dry in the dryer.  The builders forgot to leave the vent open to the outdoors.  They patched right over it.  Either that or they forgot to build a vent which means we have a huge problem.

For 4 years I have been drying my clothes 3-4 times and cursing my cheap dryer.  Then I bought a really nice one and it still takes 2 times.  So my husband became a detective and figured out the vent must be clogged.  Then the vent decloggers came out and could not find a vent.

I am so glad I have a husband.  I would have just lived here 10 years and never known and just have kept drying and redrying my clothes in an endless viscious cycle.

  • You should check behind your dryer (or wherever it gets vented to) for mold. Since it's dumping all that moisture in your house you might have some hiding out. Our house is incredibly humid and that was one of the first things my dad told me to check, that our dryer was venting to the outdoors.
