terribly rude part 3, coordinators answers

The coordinator wrote me back and said the only way to have seating for all 100 people for the ceremony would be to send everyone downstairs to flip over the room. Which would be ok, except that she said it would take 1.5 - 2 hours to do this. Is it just me or does that seem like an unreasonably long time to flip a room?

I also asked her about setting up the ceremony with reception style seating, but she did not say anything about that in her response, so I guess that's not an option.

She also said that if we were to have seating for 100 for the reception, instead of seating for 50 and cocktail tables, there would not be much space to move around.

I guess it's time to keep looking. bummer.

  • Well that's balls.  Try posting on the Phoenix board, most of those ladies have seen a lot of venues.  I think there was actually a post about rooftop venues the other day.
  • yeah I would look for a different location. In your other posts you said that you weren't having dinner served and just appetizers which is fine but making your guests wait an hour and a half for just appetizers would be strange. Good luck with the search!! My cousin got married last year at Stonebridge Manor in Mesa and it was amazing:) It looked expensive though...
  • Yes, that's an unreasonably long time. They should be able to do that in an hour easily. Sorry... it doesn't sound like it's going to work out. Honestly, it doesn't sound like they care if they get your business or not -- I wonder if they're holding out for a larger/more expensive piece of business to come by.
  • If she didn't respond to your question ask it again. It might have slipped her mind. I had a few vendors do this. I just asked again in a separate email.

  • Sorry, but I would find a different location.
  • Sounds like they aren't willing to come up with a solution.

Is there a way you can rent a ballroom at that hotel for the reception, though? Or have the ceremony elsewhere at the reception at the hotel?
