Photo Book Website Suggestions

I want to make my mom a photo album for Mother's Day that includes pictures from mine and my sibling's childhoods up through our graduation and weddings, but I have no idea what the good sites are for stuff like that.  I've done basic things through Shutterfly and Flickr, but I know that people on here have made really nice photo albums from their wedding/engagement pictures through other sites.  Any suggestions?

  • I think mpix is supposed to be good too.

  • My sister and I used Creative Memories to make a book for my mom's birthday last year. We were very happy with the range of options for pages and the quality of the book.
  • I've used mypublisher and my mom uses blurb. Both are really good quality. Mypublisher, IMO, is the better of the two. And of course that means a little more money. But, depending on how large of a book you want to make, it's still pretty decent pricing,

  • I used shutterfly and loved it.  My SIL, who knows a lot more about photography loves mpix.

    Thanks!
  • I like shutterfly and picaboo - just and see if anyone is offering cool freebies for new members... both have great quality, so go with the best deal

  • I used Picaboo for my parents' album and will use it for mine when I get around to it-- very good quality, but definitely more expensive than Shutterfly. I have also used Shutterfly and they are fine for an every day album like what you are talking about.

Check out www.photobookgirl.com for reviews of all different photo book websites, and she keeps a running list of current groupons and deals, which is super helpful. Definitely don't pay full price for one!
  • I'm using Mixbook right now to make our photo guestbook and I think they even have a special going on right now for Mother's Day.  It's been pretty easy to use so far and I've heard good things about the final product.

  • I'm normally a lurker on this board but wanted to say mpix is a great website for photobooks and photos period. They seem to have more professional quality work and they also have a $3 calibration kit for your computer so that if you edit colors it will look exactly the same when you get them.  I bought my guestbook photo book from them and was very impressed. I've got some photobooks from shutterfly in the past, they are good also.

  • I've been happy with Shutterfly, used them a lot for vacation books.  I used Picaboo for our wedding guest book and honestly, I was not impressed.  The paper was VERY thin, it felt cheap.  And it got wrinkled like crazy at the wedding due to people handling it and now it looks terrible.  I would not recommend them.

I want to try Adoramapix.  They get great reviews and their books look very good.  Once I get my discs from our wedding, I plan to make a wedding album with them.

I wanted to do Adoramapix for our wedding album, but you do everything online amd my stupid computer was too slow. Picaboo you just download it and work offline. So that's another thing to consider.
  • I have used Blurb for all my books and been very happy.  Several on my local like Mixbook.
