Leaving out the obvious grammatical errors...what IS this "back up plan" exactly?  I can't think of anything that's not part time and doesn't require college that would allow a woman to support herself in the kind of lifestyle the author is alluding to.

I researched this a bit, and came across another message board discussing this article.  One of the posters sent an e-mail to the author telling her what she thought.  Here was (supposedly) the author's reply:

"actually.. you dont know anything about my school... me and my sister were writting aganist eachother because our journalism class was about to be discontinued because there was nobody writting to the editior. so for your info i had to write it. because there was no interst in the school paper and they said it was so much money and costing the them too much . thats not what i really think F.Y.I. and i know how to spell"

She's going for journalism, and she writes "me and my sister"...among other things.
I feel that journalists need to learn how to correctly respond to messages from their critics too.  It's part of the job.
