[QUOTE]I don't remember as much as gg, but I know I had a cap and gown when I graduated preschool in...1983.

I wore a cap and gown in 1984...when I graduated high school. Pass me my Geritol, you whippersnappers.

Cap and gown for that age is ridiculous, IMO.
  • In kindergarten I think we got a certificate...I was 4, I have little memory of it happening
We had a special assembly when I finished Intermediate (Year 8). I didn't finish high school so I don't know what happened there.
I wore a gown when I graduated university with a diploma and I will wear a cap and gown when I get my degree.

I know its getting to be a bigger deal here when the kids finish a school, but it seems to be special assemblies more then anything.
  • Dang, I never had a graduation ceremony for anything before college graduation.  Admittedly, I would have had a high school graduation except for the fact I left high school early to go to college, and ended up taking the last two courses by correspondence and graduating at an August Board of Education meeting.

My kids never had a graduation ceremony before high school, either.

And I live in the US.
