Quick question for my fellow knotties:
I understand that etiquitte calls for everyone who is at the rehearsal plus any out of town guests should be invited to the rehearsal dinner. The problem is that 99.9% of our guests are from out of town. FI and I decided a while back that we could not afford to pay for everyone at the rehearsal dinner, so we were going to keep the guest list for rehearsal dinner down to include only those who are a part of the rehearsal.
After making this decision on of my FI's uncles made the commitment to fly in for our wedding from Argentina... we decided that they should come to the rehearsal dinner (FI hasn't seen him since he was 10 years old).
Yesterday we were talking and there are a couple of my future MIL's friend coming in from Canada. My FMIL lives in Argentina, and hasn't seen her friends since 2001. We think it would be really nice to invite them to the rehearsal dinner, but I'm a little bit worried about offending my family with the fact that we're making so many allowances with FI's family.
What do you guys think? Can we get away with inviting my FMIL's friends but no one else?
