boutonierres for everyone?

Should we get a boutonniere for FSIL's boyfriend? It's a smallish DW, he'll likely come down a day or so early with FSIL so will be there to help us out with stuff. No idea if they're serious or not...I dk if that matters? Just don't want to snub anyone, or overkill it & include everyone under the sun.

Re: boutonierres for everyone?

  • That seems...not necessary.  We're only doing bouts for FI, groomsmen, dads, and my grandpa.

  • Yeah it's usually only the men in the WP, plus grandparents if you want to spring for them.

  • Sorry, I should've specified in case this changes things. We're doing 1 MOH, 1 BM for our WP. So we're getting corsages/bouts for my brother & his sister as well; they'll be doing readings and helping out otherwise. My brother's fiance will be greeting & helping us out so we're getting her one too. That leaves FSIL's boyfriend as the odd man out. Is that rude or am I putting too much thought into this? :) Thanks!
  • If he's going to be the only one without one, then just get him one, I guess.  It's not a big deal either way.

  • I would just get him one.

Is anyone else getting one for the minister/officiant?  I added him to our list, but now I am wondering if I should have?

  • We got them for the "odd men out" in our family, our sisters husbands.  We thought they would appreciate it and that way they were recognized as family.  But they are married into our families, I probably would not have done it for a boyfriend unless it was serious (like been together for a year or more).

We got one for our officiant, but she is a friend of ours.  When I asked the florist about getting one for her she said yes if she is a friend, no if it is someone we are paying or someone wearing a robe....so that is the advice we followed.
