RSVP F/u

Ok I am going to put the actual entree on the RSVP  my problem is the chicken.

Chicken Hawthorne—Chicken Breast stuffed with Asparagus, Forest Mushrooms,

That is what they call it.   It is a baked chicken breast with mushroom stuffing.
So I am trying to figure out how to put it on the RSVP so everyone will know what to expect

Re: RSVP F/u

  • I would put "Mushroom Stuffed Baked Chicken," or "Baked Chicken with Mushroom Stuffing."
  • I'd put something about the asparagus too, but that's just me, and I hate asparagus so I'd be irritated if I thought I was getting chicken and mushrooms and there was nasty asparagus in it too.

  • I'd go with:  Chicken stuffed with mushrooms and asparagus.

    Sounds delicious, too.

  • KB- I am also getting married at the Hawthorne. Christine T suggested NOT giving detailed descriptions because it often leads guests to make a lot of special orders. I did just Beef Tenderloin or Sea Bass...

and on a sep note- I don't know if I have talked to you or other Hawthorne brides on the boston board but how awesome is it?!? :)

  • I wouldnt put the entree on there unless you are giving an option other than the chicken..

I would make sure to specify that the asparagus isnt INSIDE the chicken.
say something like.... "roasted chicken stuffed with mushroom, served with a side of asparagus".....

    Mmmm now Im hungry. thanks.

  • Yeah, this was a follow-up to another post where she mentioned having other entree options.

Do people really make special requests when they RSVP? That just honestly never occurred to me.

I would just say "Mushroom stuffed chicken with asparagus".

Mm, I love asparagus, I just hate the stinky pee. Stinky Pee Chicken doesn't have a great ring to it, either. I like Ohwhynot's suggestion.

Yeah, if you don't want the asparagus why wouldn't you just... pick another option? Unless you have allergies, and in that case I'd pick something I wasn't allergic to or make a note.

The way she worded it sure makes it sound like the asparagus is inside the chicken...she says chicken breast stuffed with asparagus, forest mushrooms.  I'm not sure why anyone would NOT assume the asparagus was inside the chicken.

This. I'd include the asparagus -- some people have strong feelings about it.
