less than 6 weeks!

How did time fly by so that now we only have 41 days until our wedding?!  Looking at the checklist on the knot is making me feel so overwhelmed.  How do you manage it all?

And, how do you motivate yourself to do it?  We just bought our first house (yay!) and are much more interested in getting everything moved in. . . not so interested in assembling our programs.

Re: less than 6 weeks!

  • Well congrats on being so close and on your new house!

I'm sure things seem daunting now but don't be afraid to take things completely off your plate like favors, bathroom baskets, etc if they stress you out.  Other than that just try to do a few things each week.

  • omg, you have 5 days to go!!!!   And here I am with 41 days.  Congrats!

  • We decided to get rid of the programs.  They are too much work for a ceremony that will last MAYBE 15 minutes.  You can also scale back your DIY projects.

Joy:  No DIYs here except the programs.  We've ordered the paper, ribbon, now we just need to write the welcome note from the 2 of us to thank everyone for coming and a rememberance page for our loved ones who have passed on.  That is proving to be much harder than it should be.

My mother's BFFs are doing our OOT bags for us, I just need to write up an itinerary.

And I already have a ton of TYs to write.  Maybe I'll do them during lunch tomorrow?

The next step is to meet with the band and tell them that we won't pay if they start playing YMCA, Celebrate, or We Are Family.  Also, pick out what songs we're walking down the aisle to, get our rings engraved, buy outfits for rehearsal dinner and farewell brunch, make the chuppah, confirm we've rented enough tables/linens/etc. etc. etc. etc.
  • We are now 40 days out, so I understand your stress!  Right now we're just trying to get one wedding related task accomplished each day.  I'm starting to make a list of all of the things that need to be done, so that I don't lay in bed at night going over and over things in my head, afraid that I"m going to forget something entirely.  Just try to spread the tasks out, and accept help when people offer, which it sounds like you're already doing.  Good luck, I'm sure everything will turn out fine!
