So, I work for a corporate housing company - we set people up with furnished apartments when they're coming into town for short periods of time, etc.
Some folks called this morning about a craigslist ad we had up about some apartments that we were doing fully furnished for a rediculously low price. They called, I got their information, they went to the property to pick up application information, etc. They filled it out (sorta) then faxed it back.
I got their SS#s (copies of their SS cards, which I totally didn't ask for), a whole ton of identifying details on them, and a signature saying they wanted to lease these apartments.
Well, it's fine and dandy that they gave me all of that information, but when I called and said "okay, you sent everything, but the one thing I really need, credit card information" they were like "well, we dont give our credit card information out - no one needs that but us"....
When I explained that we can't take cash and they can't pay on a weekly basis (yes, I had already told them this over the phone) - they said they wouldn't do it and decided not to lease because they had to pay the whole month up front - like a normal apartment.
Okay, great, I dont need your CC numbers - if I was a bad guy, I now I have a copy of your DL, your SS card, all of your birthdays, places where you live, etc. I'll just steal your identity. MORON.
This might be a little scattered...I'm in the middle of three things and I'm freezing - and the coffee was cold this morning =(
