Invitation Inserts- Ideas Needed!

Our wedding invitation opens like a book and has the invitation on the left side and pockets on the right for insert cards. I had been thinking I would have four inserts on the right- the RSVP card, reception card, hotel information, and our wedding website under the header "more information" or something like that.

Now, after studing the invitation picture more closely, I see there are only three pockets for inserts, so I won't be able to include them all. My only thought would be to scractch the wedding website card and put the website on another of the cards- but which one would that make sense on?- or scratch the hotel information card and use the wedding website card, since the hotel information will be on the website. FI is worried about that option though for people like his grandparents that aren't terribly internet savvy, but I think it's easier to ask someone where the hotel rooms are blocked than what the website address is.

What are your thoughts? Do either of those two ideas sound better to you? Or do you have a completely different idea I haven't thought of yet?

  • I'd put the website on the hotel information card. This is what we did, and it sounds like most people put the website on the hotel card, as well.

"For more information, please visit or something like that.
  • Ditto PP. We put ours on our accommodations card and used wording very similar to what Leisel said.

  • What's the reception card? Directions to the reception or something?

But still, a vote for website on the hotel card.

I can't speak for OP, but on our reception card, we listed the venue (it was different than ceremony venue) with the address and the time for both cocktail hour and dinner and dancing. Admittedly, we didn't have a ton on that card. We played with spacing and different sized fonts so it didn't look weird to have not a ton of info on it. We also labeled our reception card "Merriment" just because I love that word.

  • Thanks for all the advice, everyone! It makes sense to put the website on the hotel card. I for some reason was thinking people would think it would only be more info about the hotel, or if they weren't staying in a hotel, that they wouldn't look at it.

I've seen reception cards included every time the reception is in a different place than the ceremony, since you can't just say "dinner and dancing immediately following the ceremony" on the invitation then without spitting off a whole new address for the reception venue. Ours is just going to say:

    Please join us for
    Dinner and Dancing
at five o'clock in the evening
    Reception Venue
    Address

  • The hotel card works. We put ours on the reception card, as it is in a different place than the ceremony and put "for more information and directions, please visit "www.us.com"

You can still list accommodations on the hotel card - and put something like, "for directions and travel information, please visit..." to make the website make sense on that card. That's what we plan to do. I think more than 1 enclosure card starts to become a little much.
