I knew planning would e a little stressful but not a nightmare.

Just wondering if anyone else is feeling like I do. My finace'  and I are getting married August 29th. First off our wedding was double booked we bought alot of things already with the original date engraved on them. I just feel overwhelmed and not sure where to go from this point. Needless to say we had to change the date but are left with things we cant use now. I feel like sometimes I want to pull my hair out and I feel so lost. Has anyone else had any bad luck ? • Why would you buy stuff with the date engraved, for one, and secondly, if you were double booked via the venue, could you not have found another venue for the same date?
  • I agree with PP, everything I have read or heard from people who have gotten married was to pick a date and ensure you can use that date before you do anything else. Also AmoroAgain makes a good point could you use a different venue?
  • Everyone gets frustrated at some point. The key is to realize that in the whole scheme of things it's only one day. I'm guessing that if you picked another date the venue wouldn't give you back your deposit if you went with another place?
  • wedding planning can honestly be very stressful! I am so sorry that you bought things you cannot use now! I can only imagine what I nightmare that would be. Try not to let it get you down...after all, its going to be the best day of your life! And...what great things in life don't give you a little struggle on the way?

If they didn't, that would be total BS because THEY were the ones who overbooked.
  • Out of curiosity, what engraved items did you buy?  The only thing with our date on them were the cake knife set and the m&m's H's mom insisted upon.  Both of which we didn't get until right before the wedding.

Just curious as to what you woulld need that early.

<div>Oh I agree, it WOULD be total BS. But people get screwed everyday.</div><div>
</div><div>ETA: Gosh, I sound so terrible saying that (even if it's true). I guess I'm just curious why she is going with the same venue.</div>
  • According to her other post she was still looking for venues like a week ago. So idk if she just gave up and picked a different date or what. But this is obviously a post and run so it's no use asking questions.
  • Wonder if she meant to post on the Washington-Seattle board since that's where her other posts are .
