Anyone interested in a weight loss challenge?

I know we've done one before, and I "participated" but not really. Would anyone else be interested in doing one to kind of jumpstart the year? Anyone remember what site we used for the last one?

ETA:
Starting tomorrow (January 6th) for 12 weeks. Weigh-ins will be on Fridays.

Re: Anyone interested in a weight loss challenge?

  • Sure, I'm down.  I didn't do this before though.
  • What if I have a pitiful weight loss goal? Can I still participate? I really just need to get into shape, not lose a lot of weight.
  • I'm in!

  • Wasn't it thintopia? I think I participated like the first two weeks and then quit. Whoops. Embarassed
  • Aleigh, definitely! I just need someone to hold me accountable. The contract that I just signed for kickboxing will definitely help, but it's always nice to have someone else participating with you Smile
  • I think you're right Shan

I believe you are correct.  I "participated" last time too, but not very well.  I need to get in cruise shape, though, and get the weight off I've gained since the wedding.

  • I'm in the same boat as Aleigh,  I don't need to lose a lot of pounds, but I'm pathetically out of shape and I would like to tone up before May!  I'd love to join in if its okay!

Let me get something started and I'll post the info here.
Anyone have a preference for how long to make it? 3 months good with you? Preference for weigh in day?
  • 3 months sounds like a good amount of time.  That puts us to around Spring Break, for those lucky enough to have a Spring Break that is.

I'd prefer Fridays for weigh-ins, personally.

  • I think we did 12 weeks last time (so 3 months would be about right). Thintopia was definitely the site. I'm in. I've still got some to lose.

Girls who don't have a lot to lose it's all calculated by percentage not necessarily lbs. So don't worry!

  • I like Fridays for weigh-in day.

    Edited because: I'm an idiot
  • It's telling me the password is invalid.

  • The password isn't working.  Did you capitalize the e?

[QUOTE]Can I think about it?  I'm irrationally nervous of this, for some reason.

</div><div>Me too. We just started a walking program at work and everyone got a pedometer, so I'm participating in their walking program anyways. I just don't know how things will go after my classes start next week.

  • Yeah, the E is capitalized.

  • the E is capitalized.  I'm in.
  • Whoops, sorry!
  • Yes. I am in. I just weighed myself for the first time in a while this morning and I need this.
  • I think I've only weighed myself once over the holidays.  I'm scared.  I didn't do too bad over Thanksgiving, but Christmas and NYE killed me.

  • I think I need to buy a better scale...mine is wonkadoodle.
  • I haven't weighed myself in well over a month, because the battery on the scale is dead. H is suppossed to be picking one up after work. I'm definitely scared. I know for certain that my BMI would tell me that I'm overweight
  • I'm mostly a lurker, but I would like to join in because it would be nice to have people hold me accountable to my goals.
  • My BMI is usually OK, but it's the spare tire around my midsection that makes me crazy.  It makes me look so oddly shaped unless I'm very careful about what I wear.

  • The fact that H outweighs me by only 10 lbs was my starting motivation.
  • TK is interested in a post loss challenge apparently...
  • It got hungry again
