thank you card stationery

What kind of thank you cards should I use for gifts received at an engagement party?  I know bridal shower notes should have the bride's maiden name, but since this party is for both of us - should I get stationery with both of our names?  I was thinking of getting something with just both of our first names.  Also, is there a difference (etiquette-wise) between a flat card & a folded card?

Re: thank you card stationery

  • Your stationEry does not need to have your name or monogram on it.  If you choose to use it, pre wedding, use your maiden name or monogram only.
  • Fold over notes are for women. Correspondence cards used to be just for men but they are accepted for couples now
  • I didn't have an e-party, but for my showers, I just went to Target and picked out some pretty-looking TY notes. I think they said "thank you" on the front with a pretty design. A monogram isn't necessary, but if you have one, use your maiden name.

Thank you!  I think I've spelled stationery wrong about 100x times since we've been engaged - I wish TheKnot had autocorrect, not just spellcheck.

  • Don't worry about that.  It's just about my only pet peeve
  • For both my shower and wedding I just went to Hallmark/Target and bought some pretty thank you cards.
