1st Invite of Wedding season (vent)

Fi recieved his (our?) first wedding invite of the season. We've been together for some time now and the invite was from his friends (both of which know me personally and we have hung out and are facebook friends).

I. AM. PISSED.

I am an "& Guest".

How the heck can you not remember my name or make the effort to even try? It's not like they don't have access to this knowledge so they can atleast fake it.

Maybe I have been hanging out too much on this board, but I think I might have become a wedding etiquette snob.
(mental note to self: always triple check names of guests who have signifcant others so they don't feel the cold sting of passive laziness)

END VENT.

FOR SALE!!.

  • Confession: I feel super guilty because I sent an STD with "and guest" to one of FI's friends whom FI wants to ask to be in the wedding party. I said, "Hey, is he still with his girlfriend?" after they went out. FI said, "Oh yeah, they moved in together." Ugh, I hope she wasn't offended. I'll use her actual name on the invitation, of course.

[QUOTE]Just RSVP with FI's Name & Guest, then she gets to be just as annoyed in return when she recieves it.

Same here, except it's FI's cousin and his gf apparently PAID for part of the house! I love the details they leave out when they say, oh yeah so-and-so is dating someone...

Sorry but this would be considered at most a minor annoyance in my book. Seems like a major over reaction on your part. Breathe. And move on.

I feel really bad because I've met her. And we might be visiting them in Phoenix sometime this month. I'm like DUDE. Find out her last name and put her on the guest list.

He still has several friends he hasn't gotten addresses from. Actually, one friend who got an STD left a message on his FB saying, "Did you send so-and-so an STD?" Nope, cause he hasn't gotten the addresses. Ugh, boys.

  • Sorry to hear that, but at least there was an "& guest" included. I received an invitation last year and my husband was not invited, period. I declined.
  • This has happened to fiance and I quite a few times. It's kinda annoying, especially when you know that the couple knows you exist. We actually just got a Thank You card from a wedding we went to where my name was left off the envelope and card!!
