Re: Someone is missing a lil' somin somin in the brain department.

  • Yeah, I'm so sick of that "bogus" rule claiming I can't ask for money or gifts.  WTH!!

    (sarcastic font)

    What an idiot!
  • Pssht! Everyone knows Amoro is the queen!
  • Wow! Just wow.

These morons are going to do what they want, and if their parents agree with their ideas, its pretty clear what kind of idiots raised them.

  • It has to be an AE right, I mean a little defensive I would say.  Sometimes I wonder WTH goes through people's minds, it's like that little ring gets slipped on their finger and the devil is released. sigh.

You just busted me up laughing with that one. :D  I was thinking the same thing, but I couldn't put it into such lovely packaging.

Well, I won't take the crown as Queen of... whatever she thinks I'm queen of.  Last time, that person got executed. lol

  • I really hate when posters say, you have over 9,000 posts blah, blah, blah.  Your post count is totally irrelevant to the situation.  It just makes them seem pathetic for trying to come up with any "insult".  If anything, a higher post count would mean you've been around longer and had more time to learn about etiquette.

[QUOTE]Anytime someone says "my fiance and my family think its a great idea!' makes me wonder if they're just too dumb to realize that the family was being sarcastic saying it was a great idea or <strong>if it really is an entire family of people who couldn't identify common sense if it smacked them in the face repeatedly.

Sadly, I think it's the highlighted section. Just like anything else most people are taught manners, and etiquette by their parents. So if the parents don't know any better, or if they don't learn any better down the road this is how they are going to continue to think. And most FI just agree to get the other to shut up about the wedding. Hell my DH has no clue about wedding etiquette, and doesn't want to know.

I knew nothing about wedding etiquette before getting engaged.  I've been to exactly 2 weddings in my life, one formal and one a casual at home wedding.  I took the time to read Emily Post's Wedding etiquette so that I would at least know the basics.  I've also read a couple of other etiquette books.  <div>
</div><div>I do believe that etiquette has changed a bit.  However, there are a few things that Emily Post, Miss Manners, and other etiquette books agree on.  A mention of gifts never goes in with the invite or on the actual invite.  They also agree that your guests should never have to pay for anything.  Yet we get people going on TK (specifically E) arguing all the time about these two basic rules.  It's frustrating. </div>

  • Better polish up your crown, Your Highness!  Apparently you're the Queen!

But seriously, I feel like that's being said around here a lot lately.  On WP last week, someone asked Brooke "Who died and made you Queen of The Knot?"  It's become the new catch phrase for whiny brides.
