I believe we are setting a record today for the coldest Thanksgiving....the high is only going to be 59 degrees (Don't laugh, that's cold for us), it's usually around 70-75 on Turkey Day.  I can't imagine dealing with snow and negative temperatures.  No thanks, I'll take our 116 degree summers over the cold anyday. LOL.

Emily...when are you going to be on House Hunters?  I actually DVR that show...my husband and I are addicted to it.  I told him I have an internet friend who is going to be on it!

By the way...no Thanksgiving for me:(  I work until midnight.  I will be eating food from the employee cafeteria, but at least it is the Bellagio, so I hope they serve us extra yummy food today.  And I got to have a Thanksgiving this past Monday with my friends who are all in the restaurant industry and don't get holidays off either.

Yes!  House Hunters International!  I LOVE that show.  They just had an episode of this gay couple that bought the sickest house in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico for only $235,000.  I like to dream of my international retirement.

Thank you:)  I am feeling *okay*, but much better.  David bought a house and we signed on it last week, so I have had that to focus on and I am pretty excited about it!  We have a pool and Jacuzzi now.  I have been over there painting and looking forward to wine in the hot tub!

Yes, we are on House Hunters International in January. I have to check when the exact date will be because they didn't know before. Mandy, if knowing the truth about reality TV will spoil things for you, don't scroll down.











To film the show, you have to either already own your property or be closing on it. They want to guarantee a happy ending. You have to have bought within the past 2 years, so we were eligible. We went and saw two other properties, and for ours they filmed the "after" first, then took all our furniture and hid it in the hallway/storage space/guest room so we could film the tour of everything but the guest room, then put it all back and took the guest room bed into the living room to film the tour of the guest room. Lies, all lies. But lies that were fun to do and that we got paid for.

Ok, while I was crafting my response, Sascha bought a house for real, not just for TV. So exciting!

OMG that is super cool dude!  Do you have photos of said home?  How did you get chosen?  Did you just send your shizz in?

They wanted to do new places, not always typical US expat retreats like Mexico and Costa Rica, so they started contacting bloggers, which is how they got in touch with me, and we fit their criteria, so we did it. We had to send them pictures of our place and a video of each of us talking to prove that we are a) intelligible in English and b) not painfully boring.

I don't have pictures here, I'll try to remember next week. It's not as pretty as your house though, Imma tell you right now

And yes...we bought a new house:)  It is in the same part of Vegas, near Red Rock.  It is a single story, all white cabinets, dark hardwood floors, plantation shutters, pool and hot tub, 2 bedrooms and a den.  I am super obsessed with the floors and shutters.  The pool is really simple and modern so I am hoping to make it very minimal zen like outside.  I no longer have a Strip view, but if I stand on my bed and look over the brick wall I can see it.  And the tall brick walls mean I get private sunbathing:)  

I am painting the main area gray and the bedrooms and bathrooms a deeper gray.  I am getting a stainless steel subway tile backsplash in the kitchen.  I posted a couple pics of the doggies helping me paint on FB!
