interesting to say the least...

So one of the GM has a bf and they have been dating for about... 3 months. I did not know her before they started dating or anything and have met her maybe 4 times including right before they started dating... so i log on to good ol' Facebook and I have a message from her with her address and such saying that "she just couldn't miss my beautiful wedding" . Now, she was included in a +1 for the GM but since I don't know her personally she was not getting an invitation sent to her house. So far I have just ignored the message? Is that the best thing to do? I don't want to be mean but seeing as she is not my friend I don't want her invited if they are not together anymore seeing as the wedding is not until April... what would you do?

  • You say, oh thank you so much! We included you on GM's invite! Look forward to seeing you!

  • I don't see the problem here... sure, it was a bit forward of her to send you her address, but you don't HAVE to respond.  And if you feel obligated to reply, write something ambiguous like "Thanks!  I have a feeling the next 6 months are going to fly by" and leave it at that.

If they are still together when you send out the invites, her name should be included on the GMs invite.

  • I think it's nice that she reached out to you.  Including her address may have been a bit presumptuous, but if your FI and her boyfriend are close (and I assume they are, since the BF is a groomsman), chances are you'll be seeing each other at social events anyway.  I probably would have waited for a formal introduction, but I'm shy like that.  She obviously isn't.

  • Ask if it's okay to include her on her boyfriend's invitation. (That's what I did for couples.)
