thank you to someone you dont know?

we got a rather nice wedding gift from a girl who used to be friends with my moh. this gift was sent from this girl, her husband, daughter and also her mom. i've met this girl once. never met the husband or daughter and i met the mother once for a second in a gas station parking lot. other then "thank you for starting our dish set for us, and making cooking so much easier now that we have the proper utenstils!" i can not think of anything else to put in these thank you cards....

Re: thank you to someone you dont know?

  • I would send 2 thank-yous: one to the mother, and one to the rest. You could say something like this for both:

    Girl, husband, and daughter,

Thank you so much for the dishes! Not only will they make cooking together easier and more enjoyable, they will be a great help in making our apartment/condo/house truly feel like our home. FI and I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and generosity as we start our life together.

    Thanks Again!

  • seriosuly, how do you guys whip this stuff out like this? ive been trying to write these cards for almost 2 hours before i broke down and posted here!

    Thank you :)

anyone have tips on what to write in the thank you card for the venue wedding planner? or the pastor who performed our ceremony? (not our pastor, he just married us)

  • I'd say something like the following to guests:

"Thank you so much for attending our wedding and for your wonderful gift.  Your presence helped make our wedding uniquely special and meaningful. We look forward to getting together with you again and wish you all happiness in your lives.

    All the best,
    Shanliann and H"

To others who helped you, you might say something like [customizable parts in brackets],

"Thank you so much for your wonderful contribution to our wedding.  You helped make it that much more special and meaningful by [doing X].  We want to offer you our best wishes for a happy and successful future [and will recommend you to our friends and relatives who are getting married].

    All the best,
    Shanliann and H"
