Who sent it?

I just got a gift from our Target registry in the mail. The problem is, there is no sender information on it. Is there a way to find out who sent it so I know who to thank? Am I missing something really simple?

Re: Who sent it?

  • I had this problem with a BB&B gift too. Can you ask Target who ordered it?
  • I think I'll have to. I can't believe they don't have some automatic system that puts the sender information on there. I highly doubt they paid in cash, how hard is it to put the cardholder's name at least?
  • That happened with three of our gifts (two from Macy's, one from BB&B).  It was a PITA but I had to call the stores and ask (and got transferred around a ton in the process).
  • Really?  All of our registry gifts for both the wedding and baby have a return address on the packing slip, and they're from Target, BB&B, and Babies R Us.  I've never got one without it.

  • I'll have to check the box again, but I'm pretty sure all that was in there was the box of glasswear and some packing bubbles. No packing slip in sight. :/ Apparently they have a thing called a gift log that you can print at the Target store that is similar to a receipt so hopefully that will tell me.

What I've been told is that it has to do with the distribution center (at least for Macy's).  Apparently our local Macy's distributor sucks a big one.
  • I think the gift log is just a list of everything that's been purchased off your registry, without names :(
  • So wait it didn't have ANY type of packing slip?  Ours came with papers from the distributor, they just didn't say who they were from.  No packing slip at all could be trouble.

[QUOTE]No packing slip. Just the UPS tracking number on the box but that tells me nothing. Aside from the fact that UPS is one speedy group of people.

Can you track it with the UPS number?

Macy's has a thing on their website that tells you who bought a gift.  I can't remember how to do it, but it's through the registry link.  I THINK Target has the same thing, but I'm not sure.

    Good luck!
  • I would call the company and see.  Does the box say that it's from Target or could someone have sent it from their house?
  • I just had this happen. We got a gift of All Clad measuring cups from Williams-Sonoma (we didn't register there) but with absolutely NO packing slip or any additional info in the box. I'm going to call WS today to try and figure out where they came from.
  • I confess.  It was me.  ;)
