It was wonderful! The time change was a butt kicking though.
We did the Luau at our hotel (Marriot Grand Wailea). However, I heard the Ole Lahaina Luau is better, we just didn't want to drive somewhere 45 minutes back since the luaus usually have unlimited Mai Tais. :)

We also did the Road to Hana. While the tour itself was long (7a-7p) it was was actually better, IMO than driving it ourselves. It's very twisty and turney. The 7 pools were awesome..we didn't have time to get in, but we went and watched the waves on an adjoining beach. That was my "excursion" pick.
H chose a doors-off helicopter tour. They were pretty pricey so we did the short one (plus I was scared shiitless). But it was amazing...and I wish we would have done the longer one.

We went down to Lahaina one day and went to Bubba Gumps and walked around the "downtown" area. We stopped on the way back at a turnoff to watch the sunset.  Most of the time, we just lounged and hung out by the pool or walked on the beach. It was great to just have nothing to do.

Did you tell me you were staying at the Four Seasons in Wailea?

Oh yay! I'm so glad you guys had a great trip! We're staying at the Hyatt in Lahaina. I'm thinking we should do the tour of the Road to Hana tour because I'm afraid to drive it ourselves, although I'm sure H will want to. We're planning on doing the helicopter tour also! I can't wait for that. Did you AW any pictures? Eta : Sorry for the stupid mobile formatting.

No. I haven't even uploaded them from my camera yet. I'll put some in here in a little bit.<div>What company are you guys doing the helicopter tour with? </div><div>
</div><div>We did our Road to Hana tour through Polynesian tours. I can't remember our tour guides name, but he was good. I'm gonna ask H if he remembers.</div><div>
</div><div>Apparently, around that side of the island, things are not as expensive because it's not the "resort area". It was crazy expensive in Wailea for food. </div>

  • Beautiful pics, Crash!! I can't believe how gorgeous it is there!

Yeah, we looked at the Grand Wailea at first, but we wanted to be in Lahaina because there's a lot to walk around and do.  That resort is beautiful, though.

I've heard from some people that have been that the drinks and restaurants were close to what we would pay going out in the city for a night, so we're hoping it's about what we'd expect.

Probably. We very, very rarely go into Dallas or FW to eat, so we kind of had sticker shock when we got there. <div>It didn't help that our first meal was at Tommy Bahama's (delicious though). I, for some reason thought it was an island equivalent to steak n' shake. Boy, was I wrong.</div>
