European air travel shut down

How crazy is it that all major airports in the UK and Paris' major airport are shut down due to a friggin' volcano??  One scientist is saying it could take weeks for it to clear up!  That's nuts- so glad I'm not travelling to Europe right now.

Nebb- does this mean we're all going to die in 2012?

All I have to say is

1) Suprisingly, the airport in Iceland IS still open

2) Amoro must be beside herself.  She had a layover today in Frankfurt and most of the flights are being routed through to...Frankfurt!

Our airport closes a few times a year because of ash from Monserrat.  There is this weird haze and everything is covered with dust. Sometimes it's so bad you can't even see out the window. 

I'm sure Iceland's is much worse that that..

How many freakin' weeks?  I have spent so many damn hours on the phone trying to book and later fix our honeymoon flights that I might kill somebody if it gets f'ed up.  Really.

We fly into Paris, AMrs.  Seriously the flights have been the single most difficult thing in the planning.  3x over anything else.
